Termite collars in the wrong place on a Clyde North slab
Why the position of a termite collar on a conduit matters, and why it can only be checked before the concrete goes in.
Wet area membranes inspected once they have cured and before the tiler covers them.

The waterproofing faults we record in Clyde North are mostly at the edges of the membrane: a door with no proper water stop, a bath with no angle for the membrane to finish against, a split where the wall meets the floor, damage from another trade walking through. An MDF architrave fitted inside a shower turns up too. All of them are hidden for good once the tiles are on.

AS 3740 for domestic wet areas, read with the NCC. Balconies and external decks have their own requirements under AS 4654.
It forms a raised edge at the shower or door so water on the floor cannot run under the threshold. The membrane laps onto it.
Usually, if it is cleaned back and reapplied over the damaged area with the right overlap. The patch should be inspected before tiling.
It absorbs water and swells, and once it swells it breaks the sealant around it. Shower areas need moisture resistant materials.
About an hour, depending on how many wet areas there are.
The waterproofer may issue a certificate, and the building surveyor's inspections do not usually include the membrane. An independent look before tiling is the only check many homes get.
